The Métis Nation of Ontario hosted its annual Infinite Reach March Break Camp from March 9 to 13, 2025 at the Canadian Ecology Centre in Mattawa, Ontario.

This five-day camp is designed to help students plan for their future while celebrating Métis history and culture. Participants explore the benefits of post-secondary education, developed life skills, and engage in cultural workshops. The camp provides an opportunity to connect with Métis students from across Ontario, building friendships along the way.

An introductory session, icebreaker activities, and a campfire social kicked the week off right. In the following days, participants attended workshops on post-secondary education, resume and cover letter writing, and MNO programs and services. They also enjoyed hands-on experiences such as Métis games, beadwork, embroidery, and sash weaving.

Outdoor activities were an integral part of the camp experience. Participants took part in a snowshoe hike focusing on winter ecology, as well as a snowshoe hike. Other cultural experiences included a session on Métis trapping and a cooking activity where participants made beaver tails. Evenings were filled with storytelling and campfire socials.

The camp concluded with a sash presentation and closing prayer. The next morning, participants packed up, shared their final goodbyes, and departed for home, carrying with them newfound knowledge, friendships, and a deeper connection to their Métis culture.
